I finally was able to meet up with Cowboy and do a little riding, we met up at Byron Motor sports Race Track in Byron IL. This is a regular motocross track and is setup real well it took me about 5-6 laps to learn the track enough to get aggressive I liked the whole track except for one down hill that is pretty much a 30' cliff and at the bottom a sharp left had turn and double jump at the bottom, then the whoops section is way to hard pack and aggressive to have any fun on, didn't take me long to figure out a way around that section of track :-) As you can see it was dusty Me going through a hair pin turn where you need to lock up your rear brakes and slid around.
On my first lap it didnt take me long to figure out something was wrong my front left suspension was bottoming out bad, after getting back to the pit area I put my guage on the shock and sure enough it was low on nitrogen, wouldnt you know I take my nitrogen tank with me every where I go but decided to leave it home this time, lucky for me Cowboy had his tank with him and loaned me some nitrogen, Thanks Cowboy I owe you one! Me coming around for a big WOT sweeper I came to like this jump after finding the right speed to use when going over, one time I knew this jump was coming up and figured what the hell I will gas it good, big mistake I cleared the whole jump by about 15' and bottomed out my suspension big time! WOT in the big sweeper turn. Look at who is in the lead, haha just kidding, I think Cowboy was feeling sorry for dusting me out and smoking me with his highly modified 500cc Long Travel Pilot. Cowboy strutting his stuff. Cowboy in the big sweeper. oh yeah WOT of course I think we did more talking than we did riding, Cowboy gave me some good FOX shox tuning tips I just cant wait to try. More pictures to come soon as I do that video capture thing and Cowboys girlfriend gets her film developed and scanned :-) I have to include this place into my riding scedule next year it is a great place to test shocks, clutch and brakes on.
