What model Tig welder is that, the glimpse I caught it looks like mine,

Repair looked good so far, what caused the damages? I assume that upper hole in the case is the input shaft bearing area, any way to modify that area to accept a double row bearing? IMO ALL these CVT transmissions I have seen should have had double the thickness on the cases for the input shaft and double row bearings both sides. I am including all ATV's, UTV's, tractors of all types, snowmobiles etc.

It's not a tig welder but I wish I owned one. Can't justify the expense.
It's a Millermatic 180 auto set with a 150 spool gun.
I also own a mig wire machine (next to it) and a 140 amp AC/DC stick machine.

I would really like a AC/DC tig machine so come on lotto !!

Did you use a adjustable fly cutter on the inside of the input shaft bore?

No -- I cut a piece of round stock in the lathe with the correct sizes (allowing a couple of thou for some shrinkage) and then built up the aluminum weld around that metal piece I machined.

Edit: Yes I did actually use a fly cutter to clean up the inside of that welded area. The plug I made was not perfect so the size was a bit off.
