Hey all,

Years and years of replacing shoes on new machines, usually buying the cheapest ones I can find online.

I decided this time I'd like to buy metallic or as close to it as possible for the front shoes. Anyone know of any metallic or harsher shoes that perform better than the typical organic or sintered?

NO

Don't even think about it -- IF you could even find some.
Several reasons for this.

1) Metallic's are hard on disks and drums -- you can't buy these drums anymore.
I used to race sports cars and one was a formula car. We replaced brake pads every race. They were also very hard on rotors and scar them up bad.

2) I have owned my oddy's for years and only had to replace one set of shoes on one machine. They last for decades because you steer these machines with the back brakes because they are straight axle.

I make my own rear pads for the oddy. There is a thread.
If you are wearing out that many front brakes shoes (which I find hard to believe) what the hell are you doing ?
Just wondering ?

LOL I used to buy and sell machines often which meant every time I got a new one I would replace the pads.

Hadn't considered metallic wearing out their drum/disc faster.

Ditto on what CO said that sintered metal on the soft cast drums would just wear them out. On my autos I just buy the organic pads for my disc/drum applications, seen too many disc/drums worn out on autos using the semi metalic pads/shoes.
