Hi am new to the site and I have purchased my first pilot that I am trying to get back to life after it has sat for who knows how long outside. Thing were and are missing and so as I am putting it back together i just don't know how or where certain things go. Where do the 4 tubes coming out of the carb connect to? they all have little clamps on them but i cannot figure out where they all go to? Any guidance would sure be great.

(( EDITED by hoser added search words fir the future. Pilot carb FL400 carb Pilot carb ))

Welcome new guy.
This site is very dead now so you have to wait for answers.
There is an incredible amount of info on this site but you have to use the search box to find the stuff or wait for a reply.
Below is a link you can click on and in it is a lot of info and links to download a free manual.

The 1990 model had a small plastic overflow bottle to catch the gas during a roll over, then when you had the Pilot back on 4 wheels the gas it collected drained out on the ground. There is probably a picture some place here on the site, its shown in the 1990 service manual.

The two black tubes are vents the two clear tubes are vent tubes. Ensure they are clean on the inside, flush with carb cleaner and compressed air.

You have a service manual? Check out this link https://www.pilotodyssey.com/PO/viewtop ... 00#p177700

Look in the tank see if there is any rust or gunk in the bottom. Tank has a train on it, carefull removing might be rusted in, soak it good with PB Blaster for 24 hrs before removing.

Remove the fuel filter, fill it with gas, put your thumb and finger over the openings and shake it up good. Pour the gas out on white paper towels so we can see what comes out. You want to drain the filter from the INLET side. If the plastic on the filter is good and not cracking back flush it with carb cleaner until nothing comes out. It might sound hillbilly but I use to back flush once a season never had to change a filter. Honda made a QUALITY filter I never seen dirt in the float bowl.

Carb needs removed and the float bowl removed, same deal PB Blaster around the screws top and bottom, soak 24hrs before removing.

If you find a lot of varnish in the fuel system you need to flush all the fuel lines and blow them out with compressed air.

If there is a lot of dirt or rust in the gas tank flush it best you can and install a aftermarket filter in place of the stock filter for the first tank then switch back to the Honda filter. Every 3-4 gallons of gas through the tank remove the filter and back flush see if your finding anything.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I figured they were all drains but they have clips on them and clearly looked like they were attached to something so it threw me off. Thanks to the pictures that make sense now as there was a catch cup. Also thank for the cleaning process and steps. I will most def. do all that you suggest for sure. New to Pilots as i have wanted one for years and years but I am also new to two strokes. So again thank you for all your help.

Its been a fun project for my youngest son and I we've had alot of fun and are really hoping when its all back together that it will start and run. Hoping by then end of the month.
