I just bought a Honda odyssey 350 and it runs great. however, i cant get up and go with it, i have to ease into the throttle and get up to speed. If anyone has some suggestions to help me get up to speed quickly i would great fully appreciate it.

Hi and welcome to the site...

I know its hard to diagnose problems like this from the key board but can you try to be more detailed or descriptive ?

Once the Engine is warmed up does it smoke when you accelerate?

The Engine seems like its is bogging?

Try removing the lid on the airbox does it run better?

Is the Ody all stock or does it have some modifications?

Who did you buy it from someone we might know?

Have any pics?

thanks for your reply, sorry for being vague but i cant really explain it well. The Engine dosnt smoke, other then the usual 2 stroke exhaust when running cold. when i have the problem the Engine is revving up but it isn't accelerating like i would expect it to. there isn't any modifications, other then a K&N air filter and everything is stock Engine wise. my only idea is a clutch problem. at this time i don't have any pictures but i can post some in the next few days.

here are some pictures. the previous owner wanted an easy fix for the fenders so he made some metal fenders. this was a cheap and easy fix costing only 50$. i do plan to get some original plastics in the future though.

It could be the clutching then one or both the drive and driven clutches might need serviced.

Do you have a service manual?

Try removing the air box cover and see if it runs better.

You really need to buy a service manual, their is one on the web some place that's downloadable but its quality is real poor I suggest buying a hard copy so you can see all the important details you need to see, the service manual is the most important tool you can own.

I would remove both the drive and driven clutches and follow the manual to inspect them, my guess is they are both worn pretty well.

If you need replacement clutches I would contact sledpartsguy on ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Sledpartsguy-Sup ... eZl2QQtZkm

I bought a new driven clutch from him for $169.99 when buying a clutch pay attention to the shipping cost most stab you on shipping, I think sledparts guy charged 8.00 for shipping.

The 94C is a great clutch for the 350 I think sledpartsguy still sells them also and still has the best price on them...

If your anything like me when your working on something new to you, you like to soak up all the info you can, in this case the 350 in general and also more importantly the clutches... try to click on the "SEARCH" button and do a search for 350 and clutch or 350 and driven or even sledpartsguy you find plenty of info on clutches, we can asnwer all your questions but you reading in general about clutches will help you a bunch also it will allow you to become familiarized with what your working on, past conversations also hold a bunch of tips and tricks we might forget to tell you.

Try different combinations of search words just make sure to use the and between words...

So if you have any questions please ask were here to help.

You can download the manual here if you want. Judge the quality for what it is, but its hard to beat FREE. Plus it is better than nothing.

Right he only needs a few of the details, I wonder if ludedude was using the hard to beat FREE manual and missed the fact you need TWO dowel pins to keep the crank cases indexed? Were is the FREE Pilot version so I can look to see if I can see the dowel pins, heck you might just have solved the CSI mystery as to why the Engine is in its current condition....

Oh yeah the manual shows the TWO dowels clear as can be I guess Ludedude is just a moron.

The one closer to the top of the page was missing that's why the front of the cylinder was leaking when the cases shifted that's why I found the cylinder so over tighten it wrinkled up the gasket as it tried to squeeze it out, when he seen the leak he should have turned the cylinder nuts the other direction and taken the whole mess apart.
