I need to repair a broken bleeder on the rear caliper of the pilot. The old bleeder was rotted through. Penetrating oil and a little heat did not do the trick this time. Anybody know what thread size the bleeder is? Are they available? I'm debating whether of not to even mess with it in fear of damaging a caliper that is no longer available.

Now is time to find a wilewood replacement caliper and just make a new mount, make sure you get one with pistons on both sides so it will self center and you just need to make a flat plate to bolt to the trans, one flaw in the Honda caliper is them pins that wear out the bracket WAY too soon.

When I bought my last new caliper I researched this but lost the info, the idea hit me again when I installed the 440 but I just never got around to buying one and fabricating the bracket.

This one maybe ?

Pick one.

Since when is the pilot rear caliper not available - last I checked it still is available.
The 1989 part has been superseded with the 1990 pilot part number.

Did you check with hillside and Service Honda ?

I installed the master cylinder rebuild kit today and had to bleed the rear system. I decided not to attempt to extract the broken fitting for fear of damging the tapered seat of the bleeder and the fact that I was not able to locate a new bleeder. I removed the caliper assembly, wedge a piece of metal or wood between the pads to keep the piston from popping out, removed the banjo fitting and gravity blead to the fitting, since the system was completly dry. Reconnect the banjo fitting, flip the calper upside down so the banjo fitting is at the highest spot (including the rubber hose that goes to it) Pump the master cyl. and hold for a minute to allow the air to migrate to the top, crack the banjo bolt and watch the air come out. I did this three times, until the air was out, reassemble the caliper onto the rotor. I have a nice firm lever with a fluid level that does not fluctuate at all.

Service Honda shows the bleeder screw 43352-568-003 Screw, Bleeder $3.85 you might want to put it on your parts wish list for the future.

Any pics of your project Pilot?
