i also leaned the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) out over the weekend part of the reason for the head swap. I purchased this bike a week ago cleaned and painted and took it out on the maiden voyage 45 mins into trail ridding. i decided it was time to go to the trailer to cool it off on the way back to the trailer it sounded like it was hitting the rev limiter so i let off a hare on the throttle and it cleared out then it just all of a sudden spitted and sputtered and dead it was hit the starter and nothing just click tried to pull the rope locked pulled it back to the trailer and pulled the plug and then it would turn over but very little compression pulled top end piston scared on onw half of piston skirt. cylinder scared. it had a wiesco p4 piston boring cylinder and going to a p6 only one bore left out of this cylinder. from what i understand about these bikes its my first 350 always had 250 before. also this bike has stock exgaust comet 102 c drive clutch. and k&n filter every thing else is stock what can i do to this thing to make it a little bit more reliable. i now the bikes a 20 years old but you all seem to know a lot about these from what i have seen in the past.

Make sure who ever does your cylinder work relieves the exhaust port as instructed in the Weisco directions and also the ports. Also drill the lubrication holes in the piston, otherwise can you say Poofkaboom.

I think many use Goldwing radiators and buy them on E-bay, a simple search will yield many!

I have seen many pictures of them mounted to the rear roll bar arms that extend over the engin bay using rubber clamps which are availible in the electric department at Lowes or Home Depot. You may need some angle stock with holes in it to fab a mount up which also is availible at the above or painted red at Sears Hardware ready to go.

Don't forget to mount the hoses the right way if your using thermal syphonm I believe the top hose of the head goes to the top of the radiator and the lower hose on the head goes to the bottom of the radiator.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Like I really have to ask! ;-)

Good luck!

I also posted this.

But, good point on the hose layout. Hot to top of radiator then the
water cools and sinks.

Reference the Pilot Manual online for a description.

You need to use a riadator with vertical cores. Horizontal cores won't work with thermal-syphon.
