Post subject:  FL350 Odyssey AND Pilot Rear Caliper.

On the list of Honda discontinued parts is the rear caliper, the same caliper is used on both the FL350 Odyssey and Pilot.

Here are some pics of my old Pilot caliper I have added pink arrows showing the worn points, the caliper worked perfectly internally the only problem is the points I am pointing out that's worn, if they were repaired through machining and new materials used it could be salvaged.

I think since they are discontinued now is the time to see about repairs.

Here are the pics, lets discuss this.

I think most of you would be shocked to see how bad yours is, you wont see it until you remove it from your Pilot or Odyssey and get it on the bench and clean it up.

a pic of mine

looking in to this braket I'm finding on hole sizes
A = .4160 inch (10.5664 mm)
B = .3950 inch (10.033 mm)
C = .3670 inch (9.3218 mm)
F = .3540 inch (.89916 mm)
with that in mind I think it is not wore that much if at all.
If some one has better to get dim off of let me know or post new findings please.
Now on the bracket it self look to be cast so that is what I'm going to look it to.
Becouse machining out of a solid block will cost a lot more.
Now the other caliper it self the other part with the piston
needs to be looked at as seen above there is ware in some spots
weld up ? or machine and incert stainless steel plates with small taped holes ?
thanks for you time

Great info, thanks, I will see if I can get better dimensions.

My thoughts on the caliper was to machine it down then add a stainless or 4130 plate,
IMO drilling and screwing would be great, you could also use some JB weld and screws?

The pink arrows in the pic below is where I am talking about.

If speedchaser makes a batch i would buy one or maybe even a couple. My Pilot caliper is showing some wear. I have to check my Oddy though-its been a while.

I did a post a while back where I used an arm from a YFZ450. You will need to hook up a return spring to help the arm retract. I have done this on Ridindirty's FL350 and so far so goo, it works fine.
