I just installed my new PB clutch, ATV Racing Torque pipe and Delta Force Reed cage and now I'm jetting the stock carb. I started with a 142 main jet and checked the plug after some wfo runs......no color. I changed the main jet to a 145 with only a little change. Does anyone have a similar set up and can give me a jet range to shoot for, does this even sound close?

The 142 is the stock main size for the pilot isnt it,same as the 350 ? generally with the cold weather like you have now,you will want to go up about two sizes on the main and with the addition of the pipe another size or two. I think i'd try going to a 150 or 152 main (better rich and work down) 3rd groove on the needle and if you think it's lean on the pilot(slow jet) maybe a 55 or a 58 on the slow jet. of course all of this will have to be changed when the weather gets warmer in the spring. and asuming this is a near stock motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )).

I agree I would go up until you got a at least a lite tan on your plug, if your going to ride a lot in cold weather you might even want to jet up to get a real dark brown plug, temp changes are not the worry going from 40 degrees to 20 degrees is not that big of a jump but going form 40 degrees and 80% humidity to 20 degrees and 10% humidity is a BIG problem....

Thanks for the info guys. I changed the main jet to a 152 and I now have some color on it. Its a little weird though.....the color is more on one side than the other. I figure this is due to one side of the plug facing the exploding charge. They didn't have any pilot jets at my local dealership so I am running the stock one with the air screw backed out to 1 and 1/2 turns. Now when I run it down the road wide open you hear what sounds like a slight miss on acceleration.....I am assuming that this is a lean condition caused by an inadequate pilot jet or do I need to jet up the main again? You really only hear this under acceleration while holding it wfo it eventually clears up. Is it worth just going to a bigger carb? What is the best choice here.....keeping in mind that it is clutched and has a torque pipe with a good reed cage setup. Thanks again!

The slight miss on acceleration is that at idle to 1/4 throttle or at 1/4 to 3/4 throttle ?

Look at the attached chart it might help.

You might try to adjust your needle to work out that miss I would lower the clip
first (richen) and if that makes it worse then lean it out...

depending on the plug your running(new) ,you may not get a full color all around the plug until a you do few decently long runsand good and hot.Do like Hoser said and readjust the needle one slot richer(down) and see if she clears up.If it doesnt i would not run it too hard until you can get the richer pilot jet.It may be a good idea while your getting the new pilot to get a few extra main jets of larger size-155-158-160-162-165 ect.If you have trouble in the midrange after rejetting the pilot and main then you may have to go with another needle and seat, but the stock one should do you well. The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) should pull hard off the line and keep pulling till WOT (Wide Open Throttle) when the tunning is right.
