Post subject:  Carb. Rebuild Kit & drive sprocket

Hello everyone,

I am new to the group. I have a early 80's FL250 that I am currently restoring. The Engine is at the shop right now getting rebuilt. I was wondering what is the best rebuild kit for the stock carbs. I hope to rebuild the carb over the weekend and was hoping for some assistance from all of you.

I currently have the oddy completely tore apart. I stripped the frame and am in the process of repainting. It looks awesome so far. I have gone through the gear reduction unit and found everythign but the drive sprocket to be in good working order. Does anyone know a good place to get one of these? I have found one for 75.00 in California, which seems to be an okay price, but it is used.

Thank all of you for your time. THis seemes to be a great group and I am looking forward to being an active member.

You could try OdysseySalvage.com, Randy Bridgewater is a real good guy and has given me lots of free advice. He has a good set of web pages, and you can call him too, at 913.856.6639. I would try him first, he can get new Honda parts as well as used.

Also, I have had good luck from a guy named John Mscisz (not sure of spelling on last name). He can probably get you what you need. Here's his email address: jstop1212@aol.com . Tell him artisanjrf (John Fickle) sent you.

If you would feel more comfortable ordering from a Honda dealer, then I'd call Hillside Honda @ 707.263.9000. They are familiar with Odysseys. I haven't personally done any business with them but tsutton44 recommended them to me. If you're going to pay for a new Honda part you may as well buy it there.

Hope this helps. :-)
