Stop it? Last time I took ody out, when I got to car wash and started washing mud off odyssey starter started going crazy, turning off and on by itself.I forgot about it till today when I took it to carwash again and this time it wouldn't shut off,had to disconnect battery. As soon as neg touches battery it starts up again. Both the key and on off switch are off.Im afraid to let it start, what if starter doesnt disengage when it starts, that would be bad

Speed,I see the pic of the starter relay but that looks like the solenoid, where is the starter relay?
The starter is practically brand new and I just replaced solenoid because starter button quit working and I thought it might be the solenoid,it wasn't.Starter button has been giving me problems for a while, sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't.It quit altogether a few weeks ago .1st time ar carwash it acted up was with another solenoid,so its done it twice with 2 different solenoids,so Im guessing its not the solenoid but something else.

No I havent returned to bushings yet, probably start on wednesday

oops... redskinman if you pull the fuse and it still does it it is the relay, if it does'nt do it look at starter button mate, i am thinking that the solenoid you have changed is really the starter relay

No doubt water is completing the starter circuit some place.

my thoughts also... Redskinman get an air hose and blow out the handle, and the whole ody, OR Let it dry real good for a day or two and then go back to the car wash and only get one part at a time wet... see if you cant see where the water is making the ground...

I installed speedchasers bushings today then started messing with trying to figure out the starting problem.Got a spray bottle of water spraying it at different spots trying to get a reaction, nothing.Got water hose and started spraying 1 spot at a time, still nothing.Started spraying down everything and it did it for about a second then quit,so still working on it

if no cables look damaged from rocks or stuff maybe look at harness plugs, i'm not familiar with 350 plugs but two spade terminals pushed close together by grit could do it especialy with a bit of water

SpeedChaser would you have a wiring diagram of the complete electrical circuit for the 350 by any chance? showing the harness plugs

redskin track down the yellow with red stripe ( or dash) wire from relay to starter switch, looks like it goes into a harness plug with a black wire, reckon that yellow wire is getting shorted to the black somewhere

have you got a test light handy? or something you can rig up to the yellow wire that goes to the relay to save the starter from running
