After this Pilot air box lid was generously donated by Mudbogger. I installed 2 Thunder TPI valves. These will allow me to go rich or lean when the ambient air temp changes. The lid was sunbeaten so I hit it with some 100 grit sandpaper, then cleaned with plastic prep, then rattled canned with some close to Honda red paint for plastic. Both valves will open and close in increments and are supposed to stay in that position when riding. Here is a link to some close up pics of the TPI valves.

Its gets chilly at night and in the mornings then heats up during the day at Little Sahara in spring and fall, so this should make tuning a little easier.

Looks good my only concern is they are going to fill up with dirt or when you go to the dunes sand then as you drive and bounce its going to fall into the air box onto your filter inside.

What you going to do when it pours rain or you come over a blind hill and land into a huge mud hole?

Doing the dual filter mod then installing the dampers after the filters with the dampers mounted vertically would avoid most problems?

We install these in dust collector systems all the time I have even made some from scratch out of stainless steel for chemical plants

Half blast gates would be easy to fab to install behind the prefilters at the upper prefilter bracket you just cut a slit in the pipe then pop rivet it on

Looks like the blast gates come in different sizes. I gonna look into some kind of hood to cover from the sand and rain. Maybe something like this?? http://www.lowes.com/pd_317909-85334-VTL0016_0__ .

This one made me laugh. DBloudHarley and I were at LS a few weeks ago, We were night driving and i came over a tall dune only to find a huge pond just on the other side of the dune, I cranked the wheels but not enogh time, cant back up a 20 foot 45 degree sand hill. I ended up driving through, wasn't that deep, maybe a foot.

more modifications to my air box lid after some sand was resting on the outerware that is mounted between the lid and box. Im still able to open and close one of the vents without removing the piece of outerware attached to the 45 degree cover piece, i can access the other vent by removing the piece of outerware that I attached with some black trim.
