when he started building this setup he asked me how wide I wanted to go on the front end and I said I didn't want to go much wider than the back end. I'll have to go back through the notes and see how wide this thing is I kind of remember 52 inches but I'll look to make sure. With it set up with the 450 Shox and keeping the Shox under the fenders it's only getting about 7 inches of travel. With 10 available. We had a choice of moving the lower shock mount down or pushing the upper shock mount through the fenders

Are going to be able to use the stock foot tub ??
That picture of the steering linkage may be a bit deceiving as it looks like it might interfere with the foot tub.

Yup, the stock foot tub will fit

you'll be cutting the fender and the foot tube with those upper shock mounts. and they don't look like they would be very sturdy.

Assume job, cant wait for a ride report. The increased lever ratio on the stock 450 shock should soften them up.

Im going to be offering two styles of upper shock mounts, one with a shock tower on the suspension itself with no mods to the fenders or like in the picture but there will be a brace from side to side in the production model. Price on these kits is 1200 usd for everything but the shocks.

Awesome job

I hate to be an armchair Qb , but it might help to make the shock mounts with a larger surface area clamp, especially the upper

Spread the load out a little better

emmanuel farrugia

It has come up looking awesome.

Just throwing this out there.

Can you supply the sub frame with loose a-arm tabs so you can use a range of stock arms and
the buyer welds the tabs to suit there own arm set up.

They will also need to supply there on tie rods

I was having a closer look at the pics

I would it be a option to add a brace @ the rear of the sub frame to meet up
the the main oddy frame as it would add to your mounting points and remove
some flex

Just a suggestion

Good eye on the foot tub, the bolt for the antibumpsteer was just touching the tub, I had forgotten how much it dropped down. I modified the bracket to get the clearance. I also added a brace in the back but I am going to do a little stronger brace now that im going to put the shock mount on the suspension itself that way there will be no mods to the plastics. I also made the bumper bolt onto the subframe

What do you guys think of me putting together a set of plans so people can fabricate what they want and being able to buy the parts they don't want to make or cant, I know money is tight especially for toys for a lot of people so this might be a good option

Nice very nice.
On a negative note I don't like that mickey mouse rigging. Looking at 015jpg if that hoist chain slips past the mouse on the hook your gona lose a finger or break your arm. Wrap that chain around the hook one time or better yet use a sling. JMO.

Halfway to being ready for an airing out.... The front fenders in their current perch will be rendered useless, real men don't need fenders.
Love it!
