A small update. I picked up the frame because the place I took it to said it was unweldable?? Not sure what that means because I don’t know how. That was after 8-9 months of them sitting on it. I’m not in a huge hurry so I just drop stuff off and tell them to call me when it’s ready. Anyways, had to have it media blasted again because it was rusty from sitting in the guys shop. Also had some other parts blasted and then powder coated. I have found someone else to look at/repair it. Here are a couple pics. If I can get it repaired then it’s down to get powdercoted and I can start making a roller out of it and progress from there

I like the blue. How do you get in that thing? Through the front? |

Yes, through the front. It isn’t bad and this car is actually wider and longer than my other one. |

Yeah, life and family take time, work takes time. I’ve had a lot of people flake out on me with these buggies as well. I have a couple more after this one to go through. If I do it right about the time I retire they will all be done and then my friends and I can all go out and have some fun. The frame above goes out today to be repaired. So again with any luck I should be able to start putting it back together in a couple weeks |

Since all of the pictures on the old thread were lost I thought I would just throw some up in case someone ever runs into one of these. Some pics of the rear bearing carrier/cv assembly. The bearings are still expensive so I’m going to see what I can save. The outer cv’s were in good shape but the inners were rusted pretty bad. Will pick one up and have it lightened to match the others.

The bearings showed up for the second rear hub. Here are all the parts before assembly. Cv is a type2. Ive decided on a gloss black frame with red body panels. Springs will be red and the rest of the suspension blue.

Some pics of the new Engine mounts and plate for the Polaris 500. This is the Engine it came with when turbo had it. It sucks because to work on the areas that were bad the trans and motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) had to come out. Since I’m going through the car all that was yanked and I finally found some one who could do the work for me. With this setup I can actually run a larger fuel tank. Still working on getting the fuel tank inlet moved farther from the pipe, possibly to exit the right side. Seat mounts are in and we were able to get it flush with the bottom of the frame rails. Space is limited in this car. Reworked the bends on the pipe and the mounts.

The gas fill seems very, very close to the exhaust. That would make me nervous in the event of a rollover. If you could move the fill inlet to the other side maybe? |

Yep, that’s on the to do list as well. I’m looking at the other side. |

Frame repairs are done, Engine and trans are mounted. Will pull those back out and get the frame to powder coat. Get shocks off to get rebuilt and powder coat the springs as well. I will get some better pictures once I move some stuff around to work in it.
