This was off a 350 Odyssey which wouldn’t need a starter ring. I find it interesting that it does not have pre drilled holes for other applications.

Super cool project!

I suspect the FL350 102c is a bit of an 'oddball' if you will, I bought the tapered spider tool and I can confirm it's not the right taper. Part 213965A.

So I'm not surprised they didn't bother pre-drilling our version of it.

go oddy: I don't think they would be able to drill that 102c you have there. It does not have any bosses like rppjr's clutch. There is no meat there to tap into.

GrojDad: I think you are right on that. The 102c for the oddy is probably made just for a few applications. The drilled and tapped version would probably found on snowmobiles. To me they are clearly specifically made units. After that clutch explosion I had on the dyno I had to pull the 102c off the shelf that I had as a spare. Just looked at it and it don't have any bosses on it either. Not sure which one would be considered "oddball", the oddy or snowmobile.
Just my opinion.

I agree, this 102c for oddy doesn’t have the meat to drill and tap for a ring. so not only does my clutch not have multiple holes... I don’t have any. :(

I’m going to have to do more google research on the clutch. 102 clutches for this appear to be phasing out. The new one is the 108 exp.
pulled the water pump cover off a few days ago, looking at it closer noticed where the plastic water pump fins were rubbing against the aluminum cover. This might explain the debris in the cooling system.
The Engine is on the original bore and wiseco still makes piston kits for this. I also noticed on eBay that some companies have them for sale at about half the price but they have no reviews or information on them. A gasket kit looks pretty straight forward as the show the same top and bottom ends from 88-94.

Good thing I decided to tear it all the way down. I was going to replace the crank seals and o rings, gaskets etc. Its a wheel chock at this point

Part of me wants to put it back together and just finish it off, but somehow that would go bad as well. I’ll look for an eBay Engine and go from there.

Some good news after that Engine mess. Thanks to BS for parting with some transmission parts so I can get the one I have fixed. A couple I need and the rest will be spares. The 2 large gears are a 7.28:1 (desert car) and a 9:1 (stadium car). The buggy from turbo the transmission is the only thing that works so I never opened it up. These parts should fit that car as well

Here are some fuel tank pictures. The first one is for the rotax 583 Engine. The second set of pics shows the difference between the rotax and the fl350 that was originally in turbos buggy. The rotax eee is about 9 gallons. I’m figuring the other eee is about 5. I know the fuel tank in the stadium buggy is less than 3 gallons.
You can see the progression in slightly raising the Engine as they progress. The stadium buggy is the only one with a fill plate and the ability to add a bladder.

Took the radiator to a shop so they could check it out. Only 2 holes, lol. It’s good to go and one less thing on the list. It’s gotta be home made, buggy does not run a fan (has the rotax 583) nor does the other EEE run a fan. I’ll go with that unless they get hot.

No fans, that is amazing. I turn my fan on once I turn the choke off and the fan stays on the whole time.. I also don’t run a thermostat, without my fan I’d cook my Engine.

That looks like a three core rad. Is it three core ??
Maybe why it don't over heat.
I ran three cores on all my race cars. It does make a difference.

CO it is a 2 row radiator. The tubes appear to be 1/2”. It’s not perfect inside but I will give it a shot. If it needs a fan that won’t be hard to set up. The top tank is wider than the lower. The guy said it’s made of copper. I googled and everybody has an opinion. Copper transfers heat better but an aluminum radiator with wider rows will work better. I’m not into thermodynamics I just want it to run without smoking anything. I have a complete 583 rotax I’m looking at that’s available. The 670’s I would have to piece together from what I can find. Here is a pic of the other triple eee. I don’t know if it’s true but someone told me the cut and weld on the left side of the radiator makes this one flow differently. I took it to the dunes in May of last year (that’s getting warm out here) and it ran fine. Them again I don’t have a temp gauge on this one either.

in a stadium or track you always have air flow from movement, in the dunes if there is a30 mph tail wind then no airflow under heavy load conditions, I would put a fan one it, I have a civic rad on my 670, fan seldom kicks on but it's there.
FYI, you can pick up a used Cannondale quad fan for around $15, they are a good quality Sprawl I think it's a 6"

Thanks kuma I will check it out. Others have also mentioned the fan off of a yfz450. How is your 670 doing. I am considering one of those as well. Hard part finding a complete one without buying a whole sled.

so far so good, I did have a crank go out of whack on me and I think that caused my clutch to blow up or the clutch blew and caused the crank issue, kind'a chicken and egg thing.
2 strokes are easy and I pulled it apart and the shop that does my bore jobs also does cranks was able to straighten it and it has ran great all season.
I have a comet 108 4pro clutch on it now, it is a noisy bastard, I need to call in to make sure that is normal.
I'm also running a sled width belt with the stock driven clutch, all is well.

Maybe that’s what happened to mine, the driven shaft bent at the circlip ring. Tore up the the trans case and some gears. The crank has cracks in one of the lobes and where it was welded at the pin. I’m guessing the 108 is replacing the 102? I can find the 108 for both the 583 and 670. I’m still gathering parts so when the time comes I can get it apart and back together quickly.

I was using a modified TRA clutch, now that I know I can run the wider sled belt I would not bother modifying the clutch.

Received the pipe from ATV Motorsports for the 500 build. It is nickel plated and quality looks good also. Resembles the Power Pros pipes that were built for the 400 pilot engines. The silencer is longgggg. Brushed aluminum with a spark arrestor insert. I like that it has the removable end cap. Will end up giving the pile to Rusty and have him cut and Re weld so it will exit the right side of the Engine. It’s going to take a little work as my fuel filler is roughly where the bend in the pipe is. Still waiting for the Engine to come back from CW Racing. More pics to come.

FN raining here but we have had a few very nice days. Key word few.
It's suppose to get up to 77'F in a couple of days. Looking forward to that.
Still no riding here yet but may be next week will try a low hill run.

Heat isn’t so bad yet. Low 90’s in the afternoon. Mornings are great, my age is catching up to me as I used to handle the summers better. Now I do my best to avoid them. The pipe is silencer is nice. I like how the silencer comes apart at the end and the use Allen bolts. I will have something running so next time you come down you can take one for a spin. The fuel tank for the Briggs car is almost done. It will be right at 5.5 gallons. That will work well with the Rotax going in it. I picked up a 583 for the yellow eee. Low mile/hour Engine and super clean. Will be running the stock 40mm carbs on that. Have some ideas for the air cleaner/intake setup. It’s coming along, slowly.

Yeah I am the same now with heat.
Just remember that every time my brother and I go out we usually crash or bust something :-) .
