So I picked up some really cool parts the other day. Some of Rennie Awanas body panels from his Briggs car. A pipe for a pilot Engine that exits the right side, a couple sets of the wide rear wheels and tires. BF Goodrich stopped making these awhile ago. They are old (20 years) but look new. What the heck will give them a shot. The hood from one of the other Natires Recipe cars as well as the mold to make hoods and a jig to make front bumpers. I was interested in an Engine he had and was able to pick buy that last night. I will get pictures of that when I receive it. Anyways, here are some pictures. Oh and the body panels will fit a buggy I have that is almost done (for now).

SCORE!!!!! Man your shop must be a time machine. Rennie Awana, Natures recipe, HRD... I knew all the old names from reading the magazine coverage mostly. I saw a kidney hammering Superlite race in Texas once and was TOTALLY hooked ever since. Where did you find all this? ... only if you can say, I understand. Very cool man!! |

... and 13" tires are very hard to come by nowadays. Do they use anything overseas with the little mini or citroen cars? |

Yeah I missed the visit this year because of chinavirus19 but hope to make a visit in late 2021. When I do come down I might have to put some of those parts in my suitcase . Very nice score. You must have an in with the mob down there. You seem to be able to find some nice stuff. CO |

It is some cool stuff, makes you wonder where the rest of it is. I’m a picture whore, I post on fb and Instagram about the buggies. I’m just trying to find people who have parts/cars and are willing to sell. All of these parts came from a guy who bought it all from Rory Ward years ago, he then sold it all to a guy I met on fb. That guy in turn asked me if I could help him go through it. I said oh yeah, and called another friend who came along as well since he knew more about the Briggs cars than I did. It can be a very good source for parts as more people are on fb now than in forums. Two cars were up for sale, they are both gone. One is staying in Southern California the other is going to Australia. Rory wards and Shannon millens car. Both were nearly complete but hadn’t moved in about 15 years. I have a single pic of the Engine as I have to make a trip to California to pick it up. So here are a few more pics. I have some better detailed pictures if anyone is interested. Bob

They are mounted on the wheels but haven’t seen pavement or dirt. You can still pick up these tire sizes in Europe but the price with shipping is ridiculous. I’ve known about the original owner having these for about 6 years, I could just never get him to contact me back through email or phone. So it took awhile but I ended up with a set. |

Where did you find all this? ... only if you can say, I understand. Very cool man!![/quote] This all started with a guy who really only deals with FL250’s. He needed some of the red pucks for the Powerblok clutches. He used to race with Rory back in the 80’s. He called him and was told to contact a guy named Bud because that’s who he sold all the stuff to after his father passed. He contacted me because I post up pictures and build history on fb as well. He not only got his red pucks but 2 buggies, wheels, tires, all the jigs to build gen 3 Briggsbuilt and some jigs for the gen 2. The mold to make hoods, clutch parts (most are pretty worn out) some modified race 350 engines/radiators, rpm transmission parts (no cases mostly driven shafts and 9:1-10:1 gear ratios. Half a dozen different pipes (mostly Bills Pipes). Upper/lower control arms, control arm bushings, radius rods, master cylinders and the list goes on. It was quite the opener to see it all In one place. He even had some Ohlins cylinders that were brand new never used. Also a complete NOS 350 Engine from drain plug to spark plug never used. Honda pistons and ring sets, seals, bearings. A ktm cylinder modified to fit a set of super cases for the fl250. I know I’m bouncing around here but something new pops into my head of what I saw there. So all of the parts were in Southern California then went to Paris California and the new owner lives in Apple Valley. Guys name is Dennis, great guy and lives for the 250 stuff. He is only on fb, I know a lot of people can’t stand fb, but it’s where I have found so many parts and buggies. There have been a lot of older fl250 style buggies showing up lately. Triple e, JB racing etc. |

Thanks Bob. I've admired your work here for a while now. As a long time enthusiast-lite of these cars, I really appreciate your posts and what you share here. I had joined the FB group called "Honda Odyssey, FL250, FL350, etc etc". I will research what else is on FB over Christmas. |

when i went back to get the Engine, Dennis had purchased another buggy. It is the buggy that Dan Roberto (rpm) built for an baja SAE buggy. he raced it in the early 80,s. I only snapped a few pics but this has the very first transmission and rack and pinion he ever made in it. it has something like a yz 490 Engine attached to super cases i believe. here are a few pictures

Finally, some pictures of rule books and a promotional book on the first 10 years of MTEG. It is cool in that it has all the events, winners, names, builder, most wins, most championships, etc.
