Stock top end?? Looks like it will need some new base studs??
That's crazy how stubborn the cylinder was
I send you my stuff because I know you take care of it
Anyone else would of chiseled the heck out of it to pull up
Does it look like it was ever apart??
It appears to me that its never been apart and everything is original, probably the reason why it was so hard to get it apart, I had a hard time splitting the crank cases but everything looks ok, the crank is in great shape I did end up destroying both the cylinder dowels removing they were rusted in and one of the crank case dowels because it was rusted in place, I gave the cylinder a light hone and its in great shape just needs a new standard piston kit, I cleaned up the base studs but most all the coating on them is gone while they might look good they will rust easily in the future since that coating is gone, camera is in the shop will post up pics later.
Below is what I will need.
Standard bore piston kit (piston, ring, circlips, wrist pin, wrist pin bearing) It looks like Honda still has some std pistons left but no rings, what other Honda application had the same size bore that was 2 stroke that might have the rings also OR how about another mfg that used ART pistons with the same bore I wonder if they will fit ? Any 80mm 2 stroke ART rings will fit?
For example Prox 2 stroke pistons are made by ART so I wonder if they will work, maybe a call to prox would get an answer?
