Aluminum removed gave it a lite hone using a ridged stone hone. The cross hatch is the high spots.

First coice would be to see if you can still get the Honda piston. Here is the honda part numbers, first try to get the .25mm 13012-VM0-305 RING SET, PISTON (0.25) 13102-VM0-315 PISTON (0.25) If they cant get the .25mm then try to get the .50mm here is the numbers for the piston and ring. 13103-VM0-315 PISTON (0.50) 13013-VM0-305 RING SET, PISTON (0.50) With either set you get you will also need the wrist pin, wrist pin bearing and the circlips those numbers are below. 13111-KA4-770 PIN, PISTON 91015-KZ3-003 BEARING, CONNECTING ROD SMALL END 90601-430-000 CLIP, PISTON PIN, 1.2X18 (NEED TWO OF THESE) |

Also I was wondering if I should be conserned about the bottom end? like any debris getting in there from the piston failure. |

Take some pics of the bottom end, you have more pics of the old piston? Look close into the bottom end for any forign material. You can flush the bottom end too but its a mess, put a heavy rubber band through the rod and connect the ends to the cylinder studs to support the rod so it don't bang around, you can fill the bottom end with 2 stroke mix and rotate the Engine over by hand then dump it out, you want to do this outside and make sure the ignition is off don't need no spark to start a fire. |

Service Honda site says the part number is 13012-VM0-305 RING SET, PISTON (0.25) wonder if numbers have changed over the years, it should say on the rings you will have to open the packages and look. |

WTF? Looked at all of the rings and in one of the boxes there was only one ring! I never opened it when it arrived. Damn e-bay thieves. It is stamped 25 so if anyone has a single ring we can make a matched set for Ride Red. |

Only one ring, that sucks, never heard that one before, years ago a friend ordered .50 over size for a 350 and kept getting std. rings, after the first set if you looked close you could see where someone had opened the packages and swapped the rings then sealed them back up, had to happen some place in the Honda parts system, we assume someone had a bunch of std. rings they could not get rid of. Honda still sell the .50 rings? |
