I always look forward to this time of year, when you see the Halloween decorations up you know the desert season is almost on us. Sand Sports show this weekend, Chaparral Monster parking lot sale October 4th and Glamis October 23rd!

you speakie my lingie!

"Ah, the silent majesty of a Fall morning, clean, cool chill of Glamis air, and an asshole in his bath robe emptying a gas can into a sandrail." (a sort of hacked quote from National Lampoon's Xmas Vacation LOL)

I do love the dune season, goes hand in hand with holiday season. A very EXPENSIVE time of year ha ha!

This may seem like a dumb question, but what are the dates to be considered dune season out west for you California guys?

I live in the desert southwest and summers are killer here, but once we get to October the weather gets much nicer until about January.

usually the official season starts Halloween weekend, I go the weekend before, it still may peak near 100 but at least it doesn't start there at 8 am like in the summer months, end of season is Easter but you can catch a weekend in May that's not too hot.

Sometimes if it cools off soon enough, you can head out the first weekend of October, but I don't think this year will be the case.

Is that going to be your Halloween costume?
