Just thought I'd through this out there if anyone is thinking of getting a Glamis trip checked off their bucket list.

weekend before Halloween it is usually still hot, not the best trip but can't wait any longer, crowd is moderate not sure how it will be this year, Halloween is usually the first big weekend.

Thanksgiving, we usually try to get out the weekend before and claim out camp spot and get in some riding before the crowds, if not wind the sand gets beat up badly, not good riding conditions, should be ok up until Wednesday, if you want to see the crowd, this is the time to come. weather is usually good though we had some storms blow through last year.

post Christmas thru New Years, the sand gets beat during this trip, the crowd is moderate as therre are a lot of people come for Christmas and leave before New Years and then there are those that come for New Years, fire works are illegal but everyone has them, it is quite the place to see fireworks come midnight on the 31st.

Superbowl weekend, no crowds, always good riding and you can stay and watch the game, if there is one, we get broadcast TV out of Yuma.

Weekend after Pres Day, we start hitting off weekends now, this is a good weekend, hopefully there will have been some wind to reset the dunes from the previous weekend.

then another trip, around first of April, it starts getting hot again but it can be nice.

anyone is invited to come and camp with up, we'll take you on some good rides and show you around.

Not bucket list, this will be 4th year there, getting there the first week of November. Last year kinda sucked was there for about 6 weeks through Nov into December. Lot a rain and it was so chewed up after Thanksgiving and never really recovered while we were there. Hope this year is better, a lot of talk about Gecko and Osbourne being shut down for camping. That sux cause we stay at the south end of pad 4 and don't care for the washes. Have to see. Where do you stay maybe we can stop in and say Hi.

Gecko and Osborn were closed last year as they considered those to be improved camping areas.

We have always camped in the washes, wash 4 is our current digs, it is great for kids to grow up there. the washes can get dusty on a big weekend though not so much last year, we had a bit of a flash flood go through camp thanksgiving, just about 3 inches deep, it was pretty cool to be camping along side, or more like in a river.

Have also camped at Gecko and Roadrunner, we used to use Osborn as our summer night ride base camp. don't do those so much anymore, I must be getting old.
