This was all at Stoddard valley OHV park. Just South of barstow, about 2 miles south of the outlet mall I was at the first day. This is where they have alot of races, in fact there were several Trophy trucks running the course...

Las Vegas Sand dunes!!! I wish I had had more time for this place!!! I should have come up Saturday and got some time in... This place had it all... Steep hill climbs, long straight aways with little whoops and SAND!!! the sand was easy riding, never felt like I needed my paddles. Would have been foolinsh to mount them any way, as there was to much hardpack in between the dunes. I think I could have spent a week here and never seen it all. Someone said this was 9800 acres!!!

Some entrepanuers... The rockcrawlers were renting for $350.00 for a few hours??? can't remember how long... the buggies were cheaper. Had Honda Generator motors, comet clutches and no reverse... they were pretty banged up as to be expected, the guy said they has some nicer ones coming... I didn't wait around though...

I am wishing now I would have asked ya'll to show me how to tune these shocks... I have never been much on reading comprehension, more of a hands on learner...

adnoh wrote:
Cw called that one. When you get your new front T/R shocks you can back off the rears(soften them up in the first two stages) to help with then Lawn Darting. Too stiff in the rear and the fronts bottoming out is one thing that sends the rear skyward. the other is not enought travel for the deep stuff however if you can power to the tops with the new shock you wont sink in and as CW say become a Lawn Dart Show. Ilike to call it ridiing the tops. Check out where the tire dig when the other(quads, ody and pilots) power through and you will see what I mean. Just set at the gates where there wooped out and watch. You will notice whos set up right and wrong. The speed and bounce will tell the story. Pay close attention to new bikes because most of the time there susp. is set up at the factory for bigger ridders and will pogo, to stiff and rebound too slow as well as spring rate to tight.

you'd love the Ocotillo Wells recreation area then, over 60,000 acres to play in.

Turbo I thought you had a GPS straped on bike or was that a digaton. I thought truck drivers didn't get lost. If it was a digaton is there some new "bling" in the workes ( new GPS unit ). If you would please post the link to the on line manual for the ody. I would like to look over the electricial wiring pages. Had an Idea for the ody that would come in handy for the ones using water cooled heads.

You have met me, you can verify that I could easily get lost on the interstate... much less in the middle of nowhere... LOL
I do have a little cheesy GPS. I also have the digitron that keeps turning off on me after certain amount of time...
The GPS came in handy in Barstow, I left my glasses on the hood after putting my helmet on. I got all the way back to the truck before I realized I had lost them!!! I had to backtrack where I had been and after about 15 minutes I found them!!! I had lost a pair at Little Sahara in October!!!
I would like to find an easier to read and larger windowed GPS!!! Any ideas???
I believe you can ask MASSODY if he has a link, or search all of his post... He has posted something???

OK...

It's an older model I bought off of e-bay... it dooes NOT have the wire to wrap around the spark coil to show activity to keep the battery saver from turning it off... I hooked it up according to digitron with no luck...

I had a blast and rode about 26 miles according to the gps... I have to find a new place to mount it with the new seatbelts and neck brace I can't get my neck down far enough to see it...(this is a good thing)
It's hot but if a guy starts earlier he can get several hours in before the heat gets you... then next door you could go shopping at the outlet store with the misses!!! lots of fast food and good restraunts to choose from!!! Sorry no pictures the dust finally got my camera...

Engine worked great!!! I am sure it was a little fat but like my women that's how I like them!!!
My new tranny was hot to the touch, and I have a leak on the input shaft seal... they are all new, but I guess something made it go bad... back at home I have my other tranny tore apart, and it doesn't appear to complicated to re assemble... have to get the parts first, from randay at Odysseysalvage.com... I ordered a front end kit from him instead of the other yahoo, and that should be here shortly also...
I like my new seat, and bumber, and finally after a few hours got back into the hang of it!!!

Hy Turbo sounds like you had fun. Do any PPE while your were there. I had Edie and his TAZ car do some sand blasting for me, wow what a sand storm. I 'll bet he can do yours cheap just follw him around.I tryed to represent the pilot and odysses well but those dakarts and TAZ cars are just to fast, I could have used a little help. I kept waiting for the other pilots and PPE's to show and give me a hand so I put on a brave face buckled up tight toke all the sand I could eat and liked it to. Hope to ride with ya soon and check out the mods. I was wondering, you said it got out out there how did the turbo fan hold up with added heat.

It worked great!!! My radiator fan came on quite often, but that was cause there was quite a bit of dust...(self inflicted) I had it washed when I had my truck washed... I liked it so much out there I am on my way back!!! I picked up a load to Dallas... I was on my way home, but then some military loads came up out of Ft. Hood going to Ft. Irwin (next to barstow!!!) I didn't have any company on my last trip, hopefully some one might come out and play!!!
I was wanting to go to Waynoka, last week, but they thru some good loads out there so I had to take it... I am constantly searching for legal loads to OK or KS so ya'll will have an excuse to go ride!!! I drove thru OK yesterday, wind was going wild and all I could think about was howw Little Sahara would be great to ride!!! I delivered in Hobbs, NM and just 62 miles south of there was the Kermit Sand Dunes I went to a few months ago!!! Again I didn't make time to play.... I had to go make some money!!! LOL
