No I haven't but I can see it really pumping through the lines

Well that's interesting.
It may be a result of that original incident where the starter nut came loose and smashed everything up.
What does the flywheel look like ??
Could it be the magnets are damaged on the flywheel ??
I doubt it is a piston issue, because when I look in the manual both skirts on the piston look the same.
This thing tries to rev but I can here it sputter like the timing is off. That's why I asked about the flywheel.

Also -- is this an FL250 that was converted to CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) because it had points or did it come from the factory with CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) ??
What's the serial number ??

They were a little beat up, some light scraps from what ever found it's way in there. I don't want to take the other odyssey apart to try that, maybe I can find a replacement flywheel. I hate just throwing parts at it

Serial number is jh3tb040015 maybe hard to tell the frame was painted with hammer tone paint

Number on the Engine is TB04E2502536

That's a 1981.
So it came with CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition).
I see no other options right now than to throw parts at it.
That seems to be the easiest way to narrow it down at the moment.
It's time consuming but this IS a hobby, so it must be something we enjoy.

Watching the video it appears to be really loaded up. Could be getting to much fuel.

Seems like you were going WOT (Wide Open Throttle) in a hurry. What happens if you just ease into it?

I wonder how loaded the bottom end is.

Easing into had the same results, I even tried just off idle a little and it did the same thing

What do you have for a air filter?

What's the ooze like around the exhaust manifold?

Post subject:  Re: looking at another fl250

Just stock screen with uni filter, but nothing on there when I did the test

Post subject:  Re: looking at another fl250

Any difference with the air filter installed?

How about the ooze?

Do you have a drive belt installed?

I would love to see picture of the ear and Engine bay.

I would see if it helps to loosen the fuel cap.

I didn't try it with the air filter on, I can tonorrow.

No ooze out of the exhaust, I did the red rtv and let it sit for 24 hours.

Belt is off and has been off for all of the tests

What ear are you referring too?

I think he is talking about that broken ear you welded on the Engine.

Looks like you have tried everything except check the piston direction and flywheel.
This is a strange one.

LMAO. I typoed, I meant rear of odyssey.

I ordered a fuel T and some exhaust springs from partszilla. I think I might have to pull the flywheel from my other odyssey and try it. Then see if i can find a good used flywheel. I'll take some pictures when i get it apart.

Seems to me after viewing the video many times, that it is getting to much fuel. Do you ever have to choke it to get it to start ? I bet not.

Is the pug wet?

What position is the clip on the needle?

Does it ever leak fuel out the overflow tube?

My fl250 was very rich when I first got it. My exhaust was plugged and it loaded up the lower end. I bought a DG header and it took a while for it to clearup the lower end, but it finally did.

I wish I could get my hands on it and just mess with it, like open the choke, does it run better or worse. Even feel the suction at the carb will give feedback.

You're just going to have to keep at it. You'll figure it out.

Keep us posted.

I viewed it many times too and felt the same as you about it loading up but he said that the carb, CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) etc was replaced with another unit from a running machine so I just discounted it as a problem.

Ya plug is wet
Clip is in the middle position
No fuel from the overflow
Turn choke on makes it runs worse and stall the Engine and I don't need it to start the Engine.

I just went back to the beginning of this thread and re-read it.
You made no mention of the compression.
What is it ??

CO I didn't do a compression test yet, in the excitement of getting back together and starting it I forgot to do it, I will do one tonight.

Anyone know where I could buy a flywheel from if this turns out to be the problem? Haven't been able to find one on ebay and I don't have facebook. Is there someone out there with a odyssey farm that sells parts?

Tim

Post pics of that flywheel before you panic.
We need to look at it before you condemn it.
Most important is a pic of the inside of the flywheel. I wana see if it is smashed up.
