Hi all, I’m excited to form a part of this forum. I purchased two fl250s about a month ago, 600$ a piece. The yellow one is real complete and well preserved. The red one has a custom built roll cage and a DG exhaust pipe and a copper head gasket. I was able to get both of them running and took them on a trip to the little Sahara in Oklahoma. Had a blast. Have a couple questions now as to the performance and lights. What top speed should I be seeing from them? What’s their normal operating temperature? What’s the most convenient way to run led lights on them? They both have the 6 v points system. Thanks in advanced for any help

You can go as fast as it takes to get you 6' underground, without a helmet! |

Top speed of an FL250 should be close to 50mph, but again, as stated above... Normal operating temperature has so many variables -- cylinder head temp? Exhaust temp? It's crucial to verify there are no air leaks in the system or your FL250's will not last. The 6 volt points system is crap...sorry. There are conversions to stator 12 volt systems that will allow much more reliability and then your lighting options become endless. |
