All that fancy smancy hi tech go faster work then some moron gobs it together with silicone sealer that disrupts the flow that makes the power. That cylinder bolt up to a stock bottom end or is case mods required? Any idea what the scratches on the top of the piston is all about, they were marking the exhaust port width? |

Kinda what I thought about the rtv too...at least clean up the excessif you are going to use it. Oh no, you have to mod the bottom end cases for the wider sleeve. There is some empty un modded cases in the parts pile that came with this stuff. There is a good pic of the bottom end mod in the "X" thread. I had to do my Leckich setup by hand, reall not hard, just take your time. No clue what they were doing marking the exhaust window on the piston, but sure there was a reason though. |

thought I'd post this,this is the dip stick mod out of my 400, gonna copy it and install in my 360 Nuke,You have this in any of your big bores? I have the balancers in mine |

The two complete race engines have stock dip sticks in them,just like the extra Engine cases. Just noticed that the "X" engines dipstick hole was ground off n filled,then polished away, didnt even notice that! I must be getting old, lol. |

Bottom end coming together. I "hogged" out the cases to accept the bigger sleeve...just like I did for the leckich 420 Engine. Works nicely. I put new bearings and seals in her too. I had to order a complete Vehrsa rebuild kit just to have a gasket for the 2 case halves, Honda discontinued another item...Dirty so n so's. lol

Kuda was trying to work a deal from one of the old stadium racers for a bunch of big bore liq 350 jugs and whole engines then have the board members here buy em from that guy. |

Could you remove the exhaust bridge from the 350 jug, just cut it out and blend it in? why does it have to be there? |

Bridge is their to support the ring without it the ring would fall into the exhaust port and be ripped off, they invented the bridge to allow for a wider exhaust port or to gain more exhaust port area, you have a limited time to exhaust the products of combustion so as power goes up (bigger bang) you need more area. Their are 3 basic exhaust port designs on a 2 stroke, bridged like you see here then just a single exhaust port like on the Pilot and then the 3 exhaust ports which is basically a large single port like on the Pilot with two smaller exhaust ports one on each side of the big exhaust port. I will use the cylinders off my 440 sled engines for example the first pic is the single exhaust port like the Pilot has The next picture is the exhaust port design red arrows pointing to the two smaller ports, some day when I get setup to weld aluminum I am going to add ports like this to my Pilot. you have a aluminum welder now Now its just a matter of time, I have the LT Pilot now that needs more power since its hauling more weight than my 440 Pilot, I have a cylinder I need to open the front of the cooling jacket on so I can weld up a hole between the coolant jacket and the exhaust port, while I have it opened up will build up with weld tunnels as seen in the picture for more exhaust, also will weld up blocks of aluminum on the intake side so the tunnels from the reeds to the rear transfers can be opened up massively, this will require much longer cylinder studs on the intake side of the cylinder, since this cylinder is going to get a bunch of welding already I have some ideas I want to attempt on the transfers that required a bunch of weld build up on them. I had this on hold in hops that the bolt on 500cc cylinder that Calvin Pollet was working on would be done and I could just go that route but since his passing I think that project has stopped. It was going to be one of his cylinders http://www.cpindinc.com/pub/view_produc ... 1-9779-144 modified where it used a adapter spacer so it could bolt right on the Pilot cases. |
