These show the badly needed upgrade we did to the rear of the frame. As you may recall the frame has a poorly placed curved tube above the driven to allow it to be removed. I wanted a removeable straight tube placed in the correct location for more strength so this is what my fabricator came up with.

The CVT Drakarts IMO have a weak area in the frame to allow the driven clutch to be removed. The original tube is located higher and bent slightly for exhaust clearance and driven clutch removel. I wanted to replace it with a removeable straight tube to correct this.

I've purposely left it partially out in the pictures to show the detail of how it interlocks for a nice structurally tight fit. It is held into place by recessed hex head bolts threaded into both sides of each end.

Another change we made was to relocate the upper seat belt tabs so that they would not be able to jab me in the shoulders ever again.

We have some more upgrades to come that I will share with the board as we get to their completion.

I see now I forgot to reset my camera's date setting as these pics. were taken 7-27-06

Still much to do but at least it is coming back together now. I just got the new silencer from Power Pros so I'll get the exhuast back on now. Front Axis shocks have returned with new upgrades & softer valving. The new roof wing is very similar to the old ATVR one. The fiberglass hood repair is the next thing I need to address. I was not able to located another one.

Hey Litespeed; I heard once you had a spare hood. Still have it?

The Drak is getting closer to being ready for the next riding season. I purchased a pair of PWKs to replace the Miki's that I never could get dialed in. The car ran incredibly better but now I have a clearance issue as these carbs are longer so the left elbow is now slightly compressed and holding the carb at an improper angle. I've found an intake that removes the rotory valve which brings the carbs forward that I intend to get to hopefully resolve this issue. Other than some minor clutch tuning I'm dialed in!

Post some pics of the problem and the covers you have I have some different than stock rotary valve covers that might fix the clearance issue.

You see your car's brother? It was really close to you in Wichita. Don't know where it will be now!

I have been meaning to contact this dealer to see if indeed the car did get sold. From the pictures it looked pretty nice.

I used PRO-15 hi-temp paint. It is hands down the best stuff I've found to use on pipes. I started using this many years ago on my 350s and it lasts a very long time. It has to be heated to cure but the that's simply a matter of firing her up and go play!
