Had been sitting a long time in an unheated dirt floor barn. Ive never seen an Engine this nasty. Might just be good enough of an excuse to make myself an FL583! Got it for $450 in Springfield, IL. My dad scoped it for me on craigslist after he saw how obsessed I am with my first one. It's gonna be my winter project for 2012/2013. The whole buggy is in terrible shape. Almost every bolt I've removed has snapped off so i know it's gonna be "fun" but I refuse to kill an Odyssey. Let the resurrections begin!!!

Are you planning to use those nerf bars? If not, I might make an offer on them...

I'm actually not sure yet. I've actually taken them off and intend to get them powder coated with my chassis just in case they are required for racing. Does anyone know if these are required for racing? I don't intend to do any serious racing but I'd like to do something like like the beginner or slow class at the shobaba(sorry for the butcher) race. Thanks

This is the rules for 2011 for the IATVHHS in regards to equipment: This is very similar to GNCC rules, biggest difference there is they require firesuits and head socks and I think GNCC is 61 inch width.

EQUIPMENT:
1. Machine width can be a maximum of 64 inches.
2. The following equipment is required for all machines:
*four point harness restraints, securely fastened on both occupants at all times *silencer/muffler *on board fire extinguisher that is accessible to track officials.
3. The following gear is required for all competitors:*helmets *protective eyewear *rear tail/brake lights must remain on at all times *long pants and long sleeve shirts
4. The following gear is highly recommended for all competitors:*firesuits
5. The machine a team leaves the starting line on is the official machine of the team for that event, and may not be switched during the event.
6. Fuel can only be carried inside the machine's fuel tank.
7. No horns, bells or other sound devices are permitted on machines.
8. Machines may be tested by officials any time prior to, during or after the event.
