I'm a story teller so here's my story................ I would have to say it all started with the Homelite riding lawn mower that my father left me to tend to the yard after he passed away when I was 10. I quickly learned how easy it was to removed the mower deck for more ground clearance and away I went. My oldest brother got me a 58 Cushman Eagle when I was 12. I soon moved up to a Harley 175 and terrorised the neighborhood in the wee hours of the morning while my brother worked the graveyard shift. Didn't take to long and it went bye bye. I then had to sweet talk my mother into a mini bike and then another after I'd worn it out. I built a few after this until I turned 16 and got a brand new Suzuki 250. Before I had 125 miles on it I had broke the record for the longest jump within my group of offroad buddies. In the process I had almost lost my life as I landed on the front tire and slamed my chin into my own headlight slicing my throat within a 1/4" of my juglar. Got stitched up and went right back out and ran right back up the same ramp to make sure I had no fear of it. I grew up on horseback so I knew I had to get back in the saddle. So I now was totally nuts about offroading on cycles and started competing in hillclimbs and trials riding. I got alittle bored with it once I learned about 6 wheeled ATVs. Later one turned into two. Great fun but traded them in for a pair of TNT Skidoo snowmobiles and did this a couple years along with the various 4x4s we off-roaded. Then speedboating became a hit for a couple seasons. Later in life came five daughters so they got introduced to 5hp gocarts which then grew into a FL-250s. We had 8 at one time. Which led me to the Waynoka sand dunes in Okla. for a great place to play. This hobby later grew to include FL- 350s, Pilots, quads, a Drakart and a Jeep. With a stable of FLs I was introduced to this and several other forums. I've made some very good friends on this site and gained a whole lot of invaluable knowledge in the process. I have also had the good fortune to enjoy this off road sport with some of these fine people at Waynoka, Okla., Killpecker, Wy. and Saint Anthony, Idaho. I'm still out there ripping up real-estate and roosting sand in my ripe old age. Hope to see you out there doing the same!
