Would'nt it be possible, more practical, stronger, quicker,EASIER,to just alu wrap around all the existing fins?
More heat transfer metal to coolant, plus jug strength, integrity.
I would try to drill the coolant transfer holes between all the inner fins on an angle to facilitate the flow between them.
One large long drill bit, drilled from the top and on an angle thru all the fins same time, strategically placed to facilitate the flow from the bot to the top and out.
Then wrap and weld the alu cover jacket.
A pump then would be plumbed into the bottom, with the outlet at the top.
IF all the holes go with the flow, then there would be like a swirling action around the jug, washing the heat away and up,exiting out the top and into the radiator.
I thought of that too when I was making my liquid cooled fl350 cylinders and heads but decided to do it the same way as BS because if you don't get proper flow on any part of the head or cylinder you will create a pocket for the water to just sit there and boil. That was my thinking at the time anyway.
