so i was out for a ride yesterday. ran great. on the way back to the trailer, the belt decided it had enough and blew up in hundreds of pieces. i do have a spare belt, but now i need another as the spare is slightly worn, still in good shape and good enough to run for now. so what is everyones options on belt brands and sizes, i know CO runs a slightly larger belt. i have never had an issue with the stock size belt. i believe width is 1 3/16 and length 43.33 inches or something.. there is a guy selling a couple carlisle belts part number is UA 404. he's not far from me. wants $50 plus shipping what are you guys running and where you getting them from |

Here is some info: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15064&hilit=+belt viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14872&hilit=+belt I currently have a gates 6044 on my machine. I normally run a Dayco HP3004 and so does my brother. The Dayco is slightly longer than the stock one by 3/4" approx. The Gates 6044 I have not run yet but it is shorter than the Dayco and longer than stock. We have only been on 3 or 4 rides this year because of family issues that takes up my brothers time, and now the insurance has run out on the machines. No sense re-insuring for only one months worth or so of riding season. If I remember I will post results next year. Edit: According to the specs the Dayco and the Gates have the same dimensions but on my machine it looks like it is shorter as the belt don't rub on the axel. Anyways I am sure it will work either way. I want to run the longer belt because I don't want it turning the gearbox. Grinding gears on a machine you can't get parts for makes me nervous. Yes I know there is a solution but I don't like that solution. Just my opinion. |

i have my idle set very low, so very little grinding, and i usually start it in gear anyway. insurance on your machines..us flat landers don't have to worry about that shit hahaha..i have liability on it under my house insurance that's about it |

well i just order two carlisle belts UA404, got them for $110 shipped..that pretty much half price of anywhere i could find. i think he still has a couple left. |

Don't really want to hijack this thread because it is important but the insurance I am talking about is for here in B.C Canada. We now have to have third party liability here to run our ATV's etc. This is a recent law as of two years ago. With regards to this UA404 belt, let us know if it is correct and works out. I do have a wordpad file on this info but no one has yet confirmed if it is correct. |

Why haven't the 350 guys put together an order for the tuff belt? I would think they could produce the belt for the FL350, just like they did for the Fl400. Just a thought. There are details on the site for the company that produced the FL400 tuff belt. |

If enough guys got together and committed it would probably work I would of taken a couple. But now for me the price doubles as our dollar sucks and duty fees and the outrageous shipping. I ended up but all 4 belts this guy had in stock for $200 shipped to my door. I figured that was a deal. |

UA404 works well and it does sit on the axle assy. I had 4 of them and gone through 2 of them No damage. I just swap them out @ 15 to 20 plus hours per belt. But I will say I do get bad belt slip when the clutches get wet but I would say that's the same will all oddy's Wyeeoddy |
