A friend of mine from work has 60 acres near Little Sahara (Jet, OK). He plowed a trail for his daughter's long distance training but it has quickly become the neighborhood/family ATV track. It is exactly one mile long around the outer perimeter (varying lengths on teh inner courses). The track is made by first plowing then grading about a 10 foot wide path. The surface is naturally a mix of dirt, sand with lots of silt. Some areas contain more of one than the other so conditions vary considerably around the track. There are several jumps; I don't jump, like my back the way it is so I go around these or slow to go over them. The back straight is about 3/8s of a mile, I was in 6th gear turning about 12,000 rpms, so I guess around 70-80 mph. Yes, the tires were still spinning so without GPS it is hard to tell how fast I was actually going. My lap times at full speed were just over a minute, so I averaged about 55mph around the course as a whole. Certainly the fastest or hardest I have driven the Drak to date, full throttle, full brake, and back and forth and the red Tiger was put to the test. It was fun but also very tiring and I went through a lot of gas very quickly as compared to running on the sand. Dust was everywhere when I went around the track. Fun!! The property overlooks the salt lake from the east side on top of a hill, great views, easy to get to, and no idiots popping out from behind trees, dunes or berms. I'm sure as a side trip from an LS trip we could make arrangements to ride/race a few buggies around it. For full-on racing it would need to be wider but going through the brush there is no big deal.
