Post subject:  Power Bloc Clutch Holding Tool by hoser..
On this past trip I forgot all my clutch tools on the bench so had to borrow from others that were smart enough to remember theirs (thanks Dennis and Fed) but I also noticed they still are using the THREE HANDS "billet" homo over priced POS clutch holder tool they bought form someone else.

I have brought this up before and post pics before in the past but feel the need to post it again after being reminded just how poorly design and worthless the 'other' holder tool is.

The holder tool I made and you can make is 1/8" steel about 1.5 " wide the width is established by the actual width of your PB clutch when installed on the Engine and torque ready to use, once you tune your holding tool to fit your clutch it becomes a one handed no eye tool, you can reach in and by feel install the holding tool in 2 seconds then LET GO the friction of the snug fit you tune into your personal holding tool by carefully bending the metal ends allows you to put 100% of your focus on removing your clutch not having your buddy hold your "billet" POS whilst your trying to loosen up your clutch bolt.

Trust me after you use my style clutch holding tool you will want to send your "billet" holder tool back to the guy you bought it from and tell him to stick it in his arse, now I know why people are so reluctant to make changes to their PB clutch tuning.

If you like that tool then you will love this one, its a must for you guys removing the clutch bolt by hand its not really needed if your using a impact wrench.

The length of this tool is part of the holding design, it requires both hands and your eyes to install and depending on how well you built and tuned it might require 2 people to use due to the inconstant casting thickness, the end will rest on r under the inboard CV cup depending on what direction your turning the clutch bolt.

See the hole in the end if your alone and need a 3rd hand you can thread a piece of wire through the hole and wrap around the CV cup as a aid whilst your turning the clutch bolt.

If anybody else has some tool ideas they like to share I like others sure would like to see them..

These two clutch tools will save you a bunch of grief when working with the PB clutches best of all they are CHEAP and EASY to fabricate on your own.

Your power bloch holder tool looks alot like a monkey wrench, do you think a monkey wrench would work as well?

I use a big pair of Channel lock slip joint pliars, they work perfect. I would have made a hoser wrench but that would just be one more thing for me to forget.

You mean like the one in this pic?

I have used it to hold the clutch while trying to remove the clutch bolt without a impact wrench but the short handle made it a pain so I made the longer one you see in the pic "clutch_hold.jpg" its design, length and shape allows it to work easier by having more leverage and it stays on the clutch better than the monkeywrench in the pic.

You only need that tool if your not using a impact wrench when I remove the clutch bolt with a impact wrench I just hold the cluth with my free hand while I am pulling the trigger on the impact gun.

So if I under your question right a tool something like the one pictured below will work but you will need a friend to hold it while removing the clutch bolt by hand...
