If you have ever removed a Pilot cylinder and had a hard time getting it off the studs or of you ever had a hard time getting new dowels to seat properly you will like this little tool. Trying to clean up these holes is a real pain, most the time you have to remove the studs on the crank case to properly clean the holes so they will fully seat, afastcar's spare Pilot Engine has studs that will not come out, to give you a idea this Engine had sat outside open long enough to rust up the crank. I took a chunk of 3/4 aluminum round stock and drilled a hole in one end large enough I could press in a new cylinder dowel about 1/8" then I put a little JB weld on it to secure the dowel, I turned the other end down so it will fit into my 3/8" battery drill.

It slides down over the stud and into the dowel hole

I lube the 'hoserized dowel on a drill' with a aluminum polishing compound, the stuff is like water and finer than soft scrub. With the drill on LOW speed I pretty much turn it slow as I can then flush out with carb cleaner and compressed air, repeat until clean and a new dowel will fully seat.
