The intake and carb I am using is from a 580cc seadoo watercraft, the intake does not
match the snowmobile crank cases exactly, you can see the size difference in the photo
below.
Using a old set of cases I was able to bolt the manifold up to the cases then scribe a
line where the material needs removed to provide a better flow match and more
importantly ensure the rotary valve timing is phased correctly, with the Seadoo
manifold having a smaller intake openings the roof height was lower this affected
the timing of the rotary valve when the valve was opening to allow the fresh charge
into the bottom end the lower roof height required a delay before it started to flow
into the cases also with the floor of the opening higher it reduced the duration or
amount of time the rotary valve was open.
