Hoser,
The probe is a tad over 2" from the wet line. Once I saw the inside of the pipe it was as you say pretty clear where the wet/dry line is....the line is on the top and bottom of the pipe with a diminished line along the sides. So am I too far down stream? If so how does that effect temps? I'm guessing the gas is drier and will show higher temps.

Calibration, no not real sure about that wth the EGT..

You should be far enough outside the wet line where the fresh charge will not
effect and cool the probe fooling your EGT readings, study the wet line area
carefully and closely, see where the wet side their is not much carbon build up
on the pipe then as you approach the dry side you start seeing a build up of
carbon looking stuff on the pipe in that area the pipe starts loosing its smoothness
and starts to get rough, that is because when the fresh charge of unburned fuel is
sucked into the pipe the air/fuel is hitting the pipe where it is real hot and is
burning and sticking to the wall of the pipe where it is hot, as life goes on you will
see the build up grow in this area, look close at your EGT probe you should see more
build up on one side than the other, the piston side build up will be thicker and
usually a different color than the other, describe the buildup you see on the
probe best you can.

If I check my wet line and probe after running my Engine 3/4 to WOT (Wide Open Throttle) for 10 minutes
then with minimum slow speed driving and idling I see my EGT probe to be DRY
and real light tan, have even seen it white a few times, if I scrape the buildup
off the probe it is best described as chalk, no different than taking chalk and
running your finger nail over it trying to scrape some off.

I have checked the wet line on some poorly jetted engines where they were running
real rich the dry side of the wet line was coal black and in the real dry areas the
black when you scrape it off was on the wet side of dry you could tell it was saturated
with oil that didnt not burn off as well as you find in a properly jetted Engine.

If you take your machine on a long high seed run a few miles long then kill the Engine
and pull the pipe you will find the probe pretty close to the same color as your spark
plug.

Still with me?

I don't know if you have enough run time on your pipe to show all this in a easy to read detail
its good to erase the buildup on the inside of the pipe in that area for future tuning readings.

Have you seen the animation I attached to this post before? The GREEN is the fresh
air /fuel charge being sucked into the pipe then pushed back into the Engine before
the piston covers the exhaust port by the returning pressure wave in the tuned pipe,
more on this tonight when I get off work I don't have time to finish now..

See in the animation the process?

See in the attached pic I made a capture of one of the frames of the animation
the green is the air fuel at its extent into the pipe the 3 lines represent the
EGT probe, if you had it located in the wet line where the blue line is you
get a false reading if you located it where the yellow line is you might
be too far from the saturated heat as the heat of the products of combustion
start to fade the further you get away from the source, the red line would
be a better location for the probe.

This is all a mock up the distances and locations of the pipe in the pic don't
mean anything, you need to find your wet line before you install your probe
on a Pilot that is about 6" away from the face of the piston stock or modified...

Does this gif play slower than the other one? It looks the same to me, I tried to slow
it down so you can study the cycle more closely, see the green that is the fresh cool
air/fuel charge that cools the cylinder walls, piston and bottom end components of the
Engine, some of the heat from the piston is removed this way, the rest is transfered
through the rings, oil, piston to the cylinder wall where it is carried away by
the coolant in a liquid cooled Engine or by air in a air cooled Engine.

It's a good think to have and helps explain things or put pics to words.

Edit:

Each pic can be taken and discussed taking some of the confusion out of how thes engines work and what a proposed change might do or at least what is being changed and why.

I took the gif and turned into a video made it longer and slowed it down not real cler but watchable at slower speed. If you wnat slower you can go to full screen on viewer and select slow speed. There is a hidden search word related to what is going on so look for itand goggle it for its meaning. The word is revelatnat to what is taken place. Might as well have some fun while were at it.
