Warning: If you want gauges as a decoration fine, but never rely on them. After all, if they provided reliable information I would be selling them to make a profit just like our competition.

I kept the idiot lights on the manx for that reason (oil pressure and generator lights), but added a gauge for the oil temp, voltage and the small 2-1/8" tach.

I figure the oil temp gives me (or the wife) a baseline to start from, it reads about 160-175 at idle and about 210 with a sustained 55-60 mph.

The voltage gauge should be self explanatory and the tach is more for the wife than me since the Thing combo instrument cluster has shift points marked on the speedo face and the seem to be right where they need to be to me.

Everyone should have an OHS gauge though in my opinion, put it on the roof so others can see it and take the appropriate precautions when they're needed........

OHS = Operator Head Space
