I picked up a boring bar tonight, once I get it all figured out will be able to bore cylinders,
the former owner will be coming over later this week to give me some lessons and pointers
on boring a cylinder correctly.

I was happy to see the company that made this thing is still in business

Setting the cutter to remove a few thousands to see how true the bore was.

You can see with the first cut that the bore was really off.

Another view of the cutter all the way up, I will contunue to hone my skills with this
cylinder, now I have the basics figured out I will remove the cylinder and start all
over, this time I will get some pictures of how you center the cylinder over the bore,
I will also perfect the amount of material I remove from the cylinder and practice my
hone skills, I want to practice this until I bore out this bad sleeve this should give me
about 40 bores of practice then I have a 350 cylinder I can do the same on and a
250 cylinder that needs bored to the next over bore size...

Now I am off shopping for a dial bore guage to speed up measuring ...

Way cool, it almost makes me wish I had something that needed boring!

We can now say that Hoser is boring.

Hoser, you have aspirations of starting a side bis with this for all or just members of the page? What about total sleeve replacements, any thoughts on that service as well?I have a 350 jug that needs a fresh bore, when can I send it?

I can do the 350 cylinders too, I don't like how it just contacts the meat of the
cylinder with the clamp arms, this one held the cylinder just fine while I made a
few cuts but I think I will make longer arms for better clamping pressure, you
can send your cylinder at anytime but you need to send it with the piston, I cant
bore it without knowing the exact piston size..
